I will dominate 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants confronted each other to promote next month's boxing match.

Ex two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really happening.
